Two 1A's

Yesterday I had two 1A pts. It was pretty crazy because they were 9 and 11 years old. Everyone was great though! They helped me out so much and cleaned up both units I was using while I was trying to do all the paper work. I'm just glad both of them were able to recieve the full treatment and didn't have to come back. It was really confusing trying the chart the mixed dentition, but it was a good learning experience and now hopefully I understand how it works. :) I hope my pt. shows up tomorrow. He's been sick, so hopefully he gets feeling better. I'm a little bit worried and I'm wondering if I should try to find a back up just in case. ???

Good Day!!!

Today was great! My mom was my patient, so that was way fun and sooo relaxing. I felt the most comfortable I have this whole time. I was able to pass off two PEs, and she was also my 1st 1B exam. It was great finally being able to finish someone in one appointment. Hopefully I can make a habit of doing that from now on...at least with 1Bs. :) Everything was just so smooth, it was great!

Class 2 Exam

Today I had my class 2 exam. It went pretty good, but I ended up missing a lot more spots than I thought I did. :( Oh well. I thought I had done really well and I explored and everything. At least I'm learning. I'm getting loupes, so hopefully they'll be here soon. Maybe that will help. :) I hope so... I'm excited for them. It's just too bad they're soooo expensive. I hope they're worth it!!!

AHHH!!!

Yesterday was a crazy and embarrassing day! I really don't even want to think about it anymore. To make a long story short, it turns out I saved the full mouth set of x-rays I took on my patient under another patient's name without realizing it. Thanks to help from Emily, Professor M, and Mr. Solaman I didn't have to retake them. They were able to find them! Yea!!! It was such a relief! I really don't want to think about it anymore though, so that's it for today.

Relaxing!

Clinic was so relaxing today! It was awesome! :) It really helped to be able to go over the ultrasonic handpiece, and the graceys again. I wish we could have done that before I had my class two patient, it would have really helped. While I was practicing with the graceys I realized I really probably should have been using them before, or at least trying to use them. They make scaling a lot easier, or at least it seamed like they did. At least now I'll know how to use them and the ultrasonic scaler better on my next class two pt.

Woo Hoo!!! :)

I finished my first class II pt. on monday! Yea! One quad was even a class three. I was so excited. I struggled with it because it was completely new, but now I kind of know what dealing with perio can be like. It was a really good learning experience, but I'm glad I'm done with it. Hopefully next time I'll feel a little bit more comfortable. :)

Full Day

Clinic went really well yesterday! I was there all day because I had to make up for a clinic that I missed a few weeks ago. I have now started treatment for my second class II patient, I finished another 1B patient, and I passed off two PEs. Yea! :) Yesterday was a much better, less stressful day than monday. I'm so exctited that it's thursday! This week flew by.
