Mock Board #3

Yea!!!!! I passed my 3rd mock board today! Such a relief! I'm hoping boards will go just as well. It was nice being able to go in the morning this time and to relax this afternoon. :) My patient was great, and so nice. I've been really lucky with the patients I've had at Weber and at the VA. They've been great. I only hope I can get some of the classifications I need at the VA so that I can see all of my patients that want to come in again before we leave for the summer. Two more months! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a day!

This morning was wonderful! Jason came in!!! Yea! It was so much fun having him there! I ended up doing a cleaning and x-rays, but then I also practiced injections on him, and passed of one of those PEs along with the sealant PE and the Air Powder Polish PE. He was awesome! It was great to be able to get so much done. The injections went really well too. He has perfect anatomy...which made it soooo much easier. The best part is, he's going to be my LA Board Patient! I'm feeling more confident about boards knowing he'll be there. It's also great since all 4 injections went so smooth today. (I just have to work on my left PSA angulations a little bit.) Thanks sweetheart for everything you helped me with!

I ended up having 3 afternoon patients, and it went really well. I cleaned a 1B and two 1As. Luckily I had already done the OD at a screening for the 1B, so that saved on time. They were all really good patients, and the kids were really cute. I stayed buisy, that's for sure. I felt really organized during the cleanings, breakdowns, and set ups...but all the paper work at the end was a pain. Oh well. I'm home now and it's time to relax! :)

Mock Board #2

I passed my second mock board! Yea!!! I was able to learn a lot through this experience too, so that makes it even better. Who would have thought, I'm overadapting my instruments in some areas. I couldn't believe that when Perry told me. Ha ha ha! I gues I really took adapt adapt adapt to heart. It's been good though because now I can fix what I need to and hopefully do even better on the real board. I've found my 3rd mock board patient, which is great, but unfortunately his calculus isn't as heavy as I would like it to be. I wish it was heavier so that I could have a better idea of what the real board is going to be like, and be able to experience that one more time. Oh well, I just need to keep learning as much as I can.
